Kuala Lumpur’s Qalif Adnor Adam and Selangor’s Natasha Roslan were on Cloud Nine after the end of the Boys and Girls events in the Astro Inter-State Bowling Championship at the Sunway Mega Lanes today.Qalif, a debutant in the Inter-State could not have asked for a better baptism of fire in the championship when he bagged a medal in all four events of the championship.
The 17-year-old Bukit Jalil student proudly had to show two gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the conclusion of the championship. Today he completed the championship in high fashion when he won gold in the Boy’s Team and All-Events. In the team event, Qalif and his teammates, Muhammad Firdaus Idris, Ahmad Aidil Abdul Halim, Amirul Farhan Abdul Halim won the gold with a 275 pin lead over Sarawak’s Bong Khiow, Daniel Tan, Muhd Syafiq Sajeli and Chrispoher with their total of 4741. Penang’s Eugune Oh, Aiman Faiz, Yair Azraei and Mohd Nazmi won the bronze with their total of 4390. And for Qalif, winning the two gold medals today certainly made amends for his close miss in the doubles event partnering Muhammad Firdaus Idris where missed the gold medal losing out to Selangor’s pair of Hafiz Fikri and Mohd Zharif Hashim by a mere five pins.
